What is your job and where do you live and work?

I’m currently working as the Head of Coffee at Oaks Coffee & Co in Singapore.

What does coffee mean to you and what do you love about it?

Coffee is like a spiritual pillar for me. It accompanies me through a lot of time. there is no scheming in this industry. Everyone is learning and sharing with each other just like a big family. It's always so comforting!

What is your experience with Comandante grinders and what do you like about them?

I really love Comandante compared to other hand grinders! It's so consistent and precise every single time. Comandante grinder allows me to get my ideal grind size and achieve the perfect brew I have in my mind - always.

Why did you apply for the Comandante Grind and Brew Cup?

I was determined to participate in the competition when I got to know about it. Although the first time I applied for the Malaysia Comandante Championship, but I was not selected. So, being able to attend in Singapore was really great news for me. As expected it was so much fun And I really appreciate what I learned and all the people I had a chance to meet over there.

How was the competition for you?

This was such an exciting and fun competition. I was so happy and pleased that I could be part of it. gave me confidence and understanding in myself. Also, I have to thank all the people around me. Their support and enthusiasm let me understand how far I can go. I have to say I wouldn’t be able to achieve this without them!

What are your future goals?

Definitely would like to have my own café. where I can share my ideal coffee and learn with each others how to pass on the spirit of specialty coffee.

What is your advice for future competitors?

I think the opponent in a competition is always yourself, not others. Focus and believe in yourself, no matter what the result is.
