What is your job and where do you live and work?

I’m running the Operations at a Kombucha startup in Berlin.

What does coffee mean to you and what do you love about it?

Coffee for me is a happy break, it is a convivial and social moment. I believe life’s reoccurring treasures can be found in rituals and not routines. Brewing coffee – what a wonderful ritual - whether in solitude, with friends, strangers or even enemies alike ;)

What is your experience with Comandante grinders and what do you like about them?

I tried a Comandante grinder for the first time because my boyfriend has one and loved it immediately! Such a beautiful and precise tool to upgrade any coffee moment. Now with my own, which generously also came with the red axle, we’re finally able to (somewhat) tame our pre-mil. Pavoni Europiccola! So much fun and what a game-changer!

Why did you apply for the Comandante Grind & Brew Cup?

It was actually quite spontaneous, as a spot became available due to a last-minute cancellation. So I was initially joining to hang out, banter and connect with some cool peeps, and yeah sure, that golden sparkle, does shine forth!

How was the competition for you?

The competition was a lot of fun. While I was a bit stressed at first, getting into the zone brewing coffees with all the other amazing participants was truly an enriching experience!

What are your future goals?

Actually, I’d love to work in the coffee industry, maybe in an operations-related role, at some point in the future. Currently, I work with premium teas, but Speciality Coffee is something I feel very close to as well. Let’s see what life throws our way.

What is your advice for future competitors?

Believe in yourself, have fun and brew some delicious coffees! And don’t forget: coffee is a game of seduction – gotta play with it.
