What is your job and where do you live and work?
I am barista Freelance, I've worked in Australia, and new Zealand, and back in France I've mostly worked with Terres de Café the past 3 years.
What does coffee mean to you?
An amazing product with an incredible range of specificities and a growing palet of flavors and terroirs, unfortunately still unknown from the majority.
What do you love about Comandante grinders, and how did you hear about them?
I first heard about Comandante Grinder few years ago by my co-worker at Terres de Café and he completely made me look into it more. (J.Morceau)
I love the accuracy and the homogeneity of the grind settings. Plus the weight made it super solid and well, I am a fan of the design of wood and glass !
Why did you apply for the Comandante Grind & Brew Cup?
More like a personal challenge after deciding to leave Paris ans settle down south to work. I was off, in the capitale still, and being curious about what I could give and how I could fit in the competitors range ;)
What do you love about making coffee?
I love the ritual, the search for the perfect cup everytime. I love to understand why and how I can get better with further extractions. And I find it always challenging but also really fun and sharing. You meet people, you educate people, you create new real coffee addicts... Plus I am a serious addict of its smell....
What are your future goals?
For this 2019 years already well started, I decided to move in Bordeaux and work there for some years (will see how it goes..!). I want to pass my Q-Grader at some point and I will definitely compete more. Its a really fun way to share knowledges and meetings actually ! And in a really far future I kind of see myself playing a connection part between roaster and farmers, the development of specialty coffee and the education that goes with it.
How was the Comandante Grind & Brew Cup for you?
My perfect (birth)day!
29 years old this day and a golden brand new Comandante Grinder to use 🤟. And such a huge surprise to end up first regarding the competitors lists !
What is your advice for future competitors?
Like with life, take the championship seriously with fun ;)
And: Trust yourself, don't get stressed, I will say simply try to make the cup YOU will actually enjoy.
