What is your job and where do you live and work?
I’m an operation staff member for a local roastery called LibeRain Coffee. It’s located in Ho Chi Minh City.
What does coffee mean to you and what do you love about it?
In the beginning, coffee to me was just like an energy drink. I just consumed it for playing sports or work. Then I realized I enjoy making coffee. All the elements such as sound, and smell… bring me relaxation. I found peace in coffee.
What is your experience with Comandante grinders and what do you like about them?
We have a C40 MK4 Comandante grinder in our roastery. It’s always my first choice for making coffee. The grinder looks pretty cool and comes with high quality. It helps me a lot in finding my own recipes.
Why did you apply for the Comandante Championship?
I don't feel comfortable when I stand in front of a crowd, my heart rate will fly up, hands will tremble. It’s just a nightmare for me. I applied for the competition to solve that problem. For me, the Comandante Championship was an opportunity to help me go through my fear.
How was the competition for you?
I suffered a lot because I was so stressed and nervous. This was my first competition ever. Luckily, I won the prize and had for me a trophy.
What are your future goals?
Just keep practicing and improving myself.
What is your advice for future competitors?
Believe in yourself, trust your process.
