What is your job, and where do you live and work?
I am a university teacher. I live and work in Beijing.
What is your experience with Comandante grinders, and what do you like about them?
I have always been a loyal user of Comandante. What impresses me most is its extremely high particle-size uniformity, which not only completely eliminates the rough feeling of uneven grind size, but also perfectly solves the problem of excessive fine powders. When brewing with it, the acidity and sweetness of the coffee are distinctly layered, and the aftertaste is very clean. Especially when dealing with light‑roast single‑origin beans, its flavour performance is in no way inferior to grinders that cost tens of thousands of yuan on the market – offering exceptional value for its cost.
Why did you apply for the Comandante Championship?
It stems from a pure passion for coffee. I am not only obsessed with the brewing process, but also enjoy the pure, joyful, and enthusiastic atmosphere within the coffee community.
How was the competition for you?
t was a wonderful experience. Every competitor around me was excellent. Whether during preparation or the competition itself, I gained a wealth of brewing knowledge from them. The whole competition process also greatly sharpened my sensory acuity.
What is your advice for future competitors?
Prepare diligently and enjoy the competition. The end result is never as captivating as the journey.
What are your future goals?
On one hand, I want to be a role model of striving and achieving for my son; on the other hand, I hope to always maintain my love for coffee, brew delicious coffee, and forever be my joyous self.
