SÃtio Santa Luzia | 🥇Natural
SÃtio Santa Luzia is located in the Mantiqueira de Minas region, in the city of Cristina, southern Minas Gerais, at elevations ranging from 1,080 to 1,180 meters. The farm benefits from the area’s mountainous terrain and high-altitude subtropical climate—ideal conditions for producing specialty coffee.
Acquired in 2007, the 9-hectare property is managed by a first-generation farming family. Of the total area, 7 hectares are planted with the Yellow Catucaà variety. The farm is guided by a strong focus on quality, with technical support from a Cocarive agronomist who assists in all stages—from cultivation to post-harvest processing.
Owners Ronaldo and Luziane run the farm as a family operation. Their son Renan is deeply involved in tasks such as fertilization, harvesting, and drying, while their eldest daughter Aline contributes during harvest season. Together, the family prioritizes sustainable practices, carefully preserving the springs and forests that share the land.
The harvest begins only when the cherries are fully ripe. Coffee is picked by hand over cloths to prevent contact with the ground, then washed to separate the best cherries. Drying takes place on patios in thin layers, raked 12 to 15 times daily until the beans reach 11% humidity. After drying, the coffee is rested in dedicated boxes before being prepared and sent to the Cocarive warehouse.
There, specialists evaluate and select the finest lots for market. This particular lot yielded 3.5 bags of carefully processed, high-quality coffee.
