Fazenda Rainha | 🥇Dry
Fazenda Rainha spans 246.65 hectares, most of which are planted with the celebrated Yellow Bourbon variety. With ideal geography and a consistently excellent climate, the farm offers perfect conditions for producing world-class specialty coffee.
All workers live on-site, eliminating the need for seasonal hiring and ensuring continuity and care. They are supported by comprehensive health and dental plans. The farm is also home to a chapel designed by Oscar Niemeyer and the second branch of the Pedro Roza School of Information Technology, reinforcing its commitment to education and community well-being.
Fazenda Rainha’s environmental philosophy is centered on balancing sustainable production with environmental stewardship. In addition to coffee, the farm cultivates olives and produces its own award-winning extra virgin olive oil using on-site mills.
Coffee Processing
Harvesting is done only at the peak of ripeness, with beans hand-picked over cloths to prevent soil contact. The coffee is then sun-dried slowly on patios until it reaches 11.5% humidity. Afterward, it is placed in wooden rest boxes to stabilize humidity and freshness before undergoing final processing.
Commitment to Quality
The farm is managed by Lucas Antônio Gonçalves Franco, an agricultural engineer specializing in coffee. Fazenda Rainha is certified by the BSCA and the Rainforest Alliance for its exemplary socio-environmental management. It has a decorated history in the Cup of Excellence competition, reaching the finals in multiple years (2000, 2001, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, and 2010), winning the championship in 2011, and earning a Presidential Award in 2012.
