Mingyang, located in the Shizhao region of Zhuchi Township, Chiayi County, Taiwan, is a distinguished estate known for its legacy in tea and, more recently, its excellence in coffee. While the farm’s roots are in tea production, it began earning recognition in regional and national coffee competitions starting in 2021 under the guidance of owner Cheng-Yuan Wang.

In 2024, Mingyang reached a historic milestone by participating in the Cup of Excellence (COE) for the first time—and winning the highest accolade: the Presidential Award. The winning lot, a meticulously washed Geisha produced by Wang Cheng-Yuan, scored an astonishing 92.25 points, setting a record as the highest-scoring Taiwanese coffee in an international auction.

This extraordinary Geisha dazzled the international jury with its jasmine aroma and complex flavor profile, featuring notes of honey, floral fragrances, bergamot, peach, orange, black tea, and mango. The award underscores Mingyang’s dedication to quality, precision, and innovation in specialty coffee.
