Pocitos | 🥇Experimental
Pocitos Farm is located in the mountainous heart of Veracruz, in the municipality of Ixhuacán de los Reyes, at an elevation of 1,400 meters above sea level. The region’s temperate climate—ranging between 19–22°C—and abundant rainfall provide ideal conditions for cultivating high-quality coffee.
The farm spans 19 hectares, with 16 hectares dedicated to coffee production and the remaining 3 preserved as an oak forest reserve. Eight years ago, we began planting coffee here with a clear vision: to produce exceptional coffees through careful varietal selection, including Typica, Geisha, and Pacamara. Each variety is processed with intention, using different methods tailored to bring out its best qualities.
We use a water-saving system during processing and separate ripe cherries from underdeveloped ones to ensure only the best reach the final cup. Washed coffees are handled in our wet mill, while Naturals and Honeys are dried in dedicated African beds for optimal flavor development. After drying, the coffee is carefully packed in jute and GrainPro bags, with representative samples taken for sensory analysis and quality classification.
We’ve made steady progress in the specialty coffee world:
- 22nd place – Cup of Excellence 2018
- 30th place – Cup of Excellence 2021
- 3rd place – Cup of Excellence Mexico 2023
These achievements reflect years of learning, training, and dedication—from roasting and cupping to batch-specific processing. Today, our coffee is meticulously stored, labeled, and offered to customers with full transparency and care.
Pocitos Farm is managed by Jesús Carlos Cadena, a fifth-generation coffee producer. Our harvest season takes place in March, and we look forward to continuing to share the fruits of our labor with coffee lovers around the world.
